"Word Paintings"
This group of paintings grew out of drawings I made on the streets during 2017 when I did not have a studio. In those drawings, all of which were diptychs, there was a panel of imagery, and a panel of written words. In the subsequent larger paintings the words were noted on separate drawings exhibited adjacent to the painted image. The smaller group of extreme horizontal paintings incorporated the written word directly into the imagery.
